What customers say?

“ Really great takeaway! Love that it's one of the few places that still uses beef dripping to fry in, much healthier fish and chips compared to veg oils! Great stuff. So fulfilling at bargain price and has a lovely flavour, great portion sizes too. ”

“ Another of my famous fish and chips reviews. Saturday lunchtime, the place was heaving. Brilliant. As it should be. Ordered up jumbo cod, regular chips and a large curry sauce. In no time the fish was cooked, in wonderful beef dripping, with chef Alan chucking in more of that wonderful beef dripping as he cooked. Excellent fresh fish, with a beautiful glass like crunchy batter. Wonderful crispy chips, with plenty of S&V. And the curry sauce packed a real kick. Brilliant! Loads of regulars in there, known by name, that’s a great sign. Really delicious food, thoroughly recommend you go and try it, and incredible value for money. £15 for all that splendid food. As others have mentioned, the fish sizes are on the smaller size. I would compare the jumbo cod I had to a large cod at pretty much every other place I regularly frequent. But then, I’m a fat pig. ”

“ I've been twice so far, 2 x cod and chips. I really like this chippy, the batter is really good and the chips are tasty too. It's great value, around £6 for standard cod and chips. I will definitely be trying more from the menu :) ”

“ First time here and what a pleasant experience! I had cod and chips at the restaurant seating area and it was simply delicious. Freshly cooked, decent portion, 10 out of 10. Great service too from the super friendly staff. Will most definitely be back! ”

“ Excellent fish and chips. Good sized portions. Freshly cooked. Good value. We placed a large order recently (approx 15 meals) and there were no mistakes on collection (unlike the other chip shop we've been using until now). Would highly recommend. ”

“ Ayyyo, popped into Haynes on a lunchtime visit as I was after a little treat. Was greeted very kindly by two lovely members of staff. Asked for a small chips , sausage and a curry sauce all of which was cooked fresh! Very quick service, clean and tidy place with a nice feel to it! And unbelievable value for money, was my first visit but I can assure you it won’t be my last! Thank you :) ”

“ So rare takeaways to use beef drippings. Vegetable oil when heated can be very inflammatory cause heart disease and cancers. Beef drippings was found to protect your liver and reduce sun damage. What's not to love? The only chippy shop I go to ”

- Tree Orange -

“ We stayed in an air b&b in Bath for the weekend, we had take away fish & chips on the first night. Best fish & chips I've had in years. ”
